An accepting, non-judgemental and empathetic approach is used to instil self-understanding by examining values and beliefs. Beliefs we hold about ourselves and the world can contribute to feeling anxious and depressed. In addition, understanding how past experiences and relationship patterns can impact the present through self-defeating beliefs and behaviours may help improve relationships, self-confidence and self-esteem.

 

Therapy does not offer a magic pill or a quick fix. It is a process that necessitates participation and investment from both the psychologist and client.
